Our Algarve:

A heritage to preserve

The Algarve has very different landscapes: long sandy beaches, salt marshes, dense cork oak forests or coastal cliffs.

Around 40% of the territory is protected under the Natura 2000 network and this is due to the region's enormous natural richness. More than 350 species of birds occur here, as well as 150 mammals, 2,000 plants and countless invertebrates.

The Algarve also preserves a genuine authenticity and na ancient cultural heritage, with numerous ancient rural traditions and practices, such as palm handicrafts (empreita) or cork extraction.

This rich heritage is what sets this region apart from many others and what makes our offer special. Some of these are exclusive to the region or quite rare in Portugal and Europe, such as the Iberian Lynx.
