When José Carvalho was a child, he saw nature receding in the face of the urban sprawl around his neighborhood in his hometown of Évora. Perhaps it was this absence converted into concrete that made him start to appreciate the natural world and want to preserve it. He chose Biology and after graduating he worked as a bird keeper and trainer in the Algarve. It was while birdwatching that he began to develop his new passion: photography. What made him look for Proactivetur was his desire to act for nature conservation and he believes that ecotourism is a good way to start. Zé is in training process to be our nature guide.
